September 5, 2018 – The Tribune-Democrat’s Health Matters article for this month focuses on healthy aging, as well as the importance for seniors to practice prevention, and take charge of their health. In a study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Americans over 65 years old are estimated to account for approximately 20% of total population by 2030 hence, learning how to maintain our physical and mental health is necessary for ensuring our health and well-being. The 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health is working to keep the aging population of our community healthy.
